RED CROSS X SOEREN LE SCHMIDT
The name Soeren Le Schmidt is associated with a multitude of projects and collabs, remodeling old garments collected and donated by Danish Red Cross among others. Having sustainability as his core focus area, the aim of this collaborative is to move from a Throw-Away Culture towards one that encourages repair and reuse. Soeren Le Schmidt’s way of interpreting the concept of ‘pattern manipulation’, together with his graphics and asymmetry in design, alongside with a rockabilly and playful edge, are clearly visible throughout the RKXSLS collection.
The reused and unique clothing was showcased and sold in an exclusive Pop-Up store in Copenhagen, while all profits from sales going directly toward supporting Red Cross’ humanitarian work. Through partnering with Red Cross, Soeren Le Schmidt helps raise awareness of the humanitarian mission and services, alongside with sustainable fashion and upcycled garments. At the opening, Soeren Le Schmidt and Red Cross launched a joint coffee table book, unpacking some of the remodeled styles with contribution from prominent celebrities in Denmark.
